About the course:
This course looks at the challenges faced when looking for work. It will help you to identify the types of work you are looking for, give you the skills to apply for jobs online and prepare you for different types of interviews. You will focus on building your confidence so you can enter the workplace as a valuable employee with the skills and behaviours that employers are crying out for.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be taught face to face, at Kendal Library. The sessions will include some power-point demonstrations with your tutor, discussions within the group and some short tasks. You will receive any materials needed via your tutor during the lesson.
What do I need to bring?
You must bring your own pen to each session. If you wear glasses don't forget to bring those too.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific entry requirements for this course.
What can I do next?
On completion of this course, you can progress to many other Employability courses. You may also choose to progress to an English, maths or IT course.
How well am I doing?
Your tutor will tell you how you are doing in the sessions and your progress will be recorded in your Individual Progress Record. You will work with your tutor to identify any particular areas that you want to improve, and your tutor will support you achieve your goals.
