About the course:

Whether you're an experienced writer seeking fresh inspiration or a complete beginner eager to explore your creative side, this course is designed for you. It will spark your imagination and introduce you to new techniques that will enhance your writing skills and help you discover new directions in your creative journey.

How will the course be delivered?

This is a face-to-face course at the Kendal Library, delivered over 4 sessions, each lasting 2 hours on a Tuesday afternoon . We will look at different writing styles and genres and use them as models to write as a group and individually.

What do I need to bring?

Just bring your favourite pen! Also paper or a notepad for the writing prompts we will do.

What are the entry requirements?

A genuine interest in creative writing (this can include things like short stories, magazine articles, journalling, poetry, novels, flash fiction). Basic written English skills.

What can I do next?

You may wish to move on to our beginners creative writing course, or move on to Functional Skills or GCSE English qualifications.

How well am I doing?

Your tutor will give you verbal and written feedback throughout the course.
