About the course:
Each week will start with suggested exercises and ideas, with some collaborative exercises included. You will take risks with watercolour and aim to develop new and exciting methods in your work. The aim is to then include some of the experimental work and ideas into you own personal style. We will look at contemporary artists who have pushed the boundaries of watercolour painting and use their work as inspiration.
How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a large brush, a smaller brush and other materials you like to use and experiment with in your paintings. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirements. It is a course for learners who have a basic knowledge of watercolour techniques or who have attended the beginners' watercolour courses . You should be able to tackle a painting independently and have a willingness to explore and experiment with techniques and compositions.
