About the course:

The course will help you to look closely at the way you paint and how you want to paint. In discussions with the tutor, you will try and identify artists who work in a similar way to you and to use their work as inspiration. You will identify aspect of your work that you want to develop and take further. Each week, will focus on exercises to help you develop your style and the themes you want to paint.

How will the course be delivered?

Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.

What do I need to bring?

A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a large brush, a smaller brush and other materials you like to use and experiment with in your paintings. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements. It is a course for learners who have a good knowledge of watercolour techniques or who have attended the beginners/improvers watercolour course and are able to tackle a painting independently.
