About the course:
This course is designed for students with very limited computer knowledge and those who are interested in gaining basic knowledge on how to use IT.
How will the course be delivered?
You will work directly with your tutor as part of a small group covering the course aims. Your tutor will feed back to you throughout each session on your progress. You may have homework tasks to complete between each session and you will receive feedback on the work submitted.
What do I need to bring?
You might find a pen and notebook handy to take notes and if you wear glasses don't forget to bring those too.
What are the entry requirements?
None. This course is designed for students who have never used a PC or last used one a very long time ago. It is for those who have very basic skills and would like to gain confidence and an understanding of computer terms, skills and knowledge.
What can I do next?
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto a Nationally Accredited Qualification such as the new Essential Digital Skills Qualification or many of our other Digital Skills courses and workshops such as Beginners Computers
How well am I doing?
You will be given clear learning outcomes at the outset and throughout your learning which will be recorded in your Individual Progress Record. You will work with and be supported by your tutor who will give you regular feedback throughout the course. Your Tutor will provide you with both regular feedback verbally in lessons and recorded in your Individual Progress Record (IPR) from reviews. Information, Advice and Guidance on how to progress further will be given at the end of the course.
