About the course:

This course is for anyone (Beginners to Advanced painters) who is interested in colour and using colour in their paintings. We will start with colour from the very beginning - colour and colour theory, and in our time together we will go into this fascinating subject in depth. Can you see colours when you hear sounds? Some people can. Can you see a different colour when you have looked hard at a colour? All this will be explained and more.

How will the course be delivered?

Online delivery. You can access the class from your computer equipped with a camera and a microphone, or from a laptop using Zoom software. Before the session, the tutor will send you by email essential lesson information/handouts for you to consult in advance, and before the class starts, the tutor will have sent you by email an invitation to join, which will be a simple web link to click. Tutor will establish how much you know already and then demonstrate art techniques during the session and you will have a go. There will be an initial questionnaire to establish how much you already know. Each session will show the work completed from the previous class, have an introduction and warm-up to a particular technique of the day, and then your colour challenges begin. There will be a mix of tutor teaching / demonstrating, your own exploration and discovery, and practical painting exercises too.

*This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners. Learners will join the class from home and be able to exchange and interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking and listening). Learners will be required to turn on their camera throughout the session for safeguarding compliance. There will be a discussion and demonstration. You will have opportunities to discuss and ask questions- this is an interactive course with the Tutor present throughout.

How well am I doing?
