About the course:
The course will continue to experiment with different water-colour techniques (sea salt, cling-film, wet-in-wet, wax resist, scraping, granulation fluid etc…) and with step-by-step instructions learners will be shown how these can be applied to different themes. Each week will start with a series of exercises which will then be implemented into paintings. You will learn how to build up more complex compositions incorporating the skills taught. Skills will include: washes, mark making, layering, textures and different media.
How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
A basic set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a large brush and a smaller brush. Feel free to bring any other materials you may have to experiment with. Other materials will be provided for you to also try.
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirements. However, a little knowledge of watercolour painting would be useful and a willingness to experiment.
