About the course:
You will be introduced to a range of techniques used by artists to make interesting compositions. You'll explore the use of cropping, the rule of thirds and learn how to create pictorial interest in your paintings. Each week will focus on a different theme and technique, which you'll incorporate into your own painting. A step-by-step example will be demonstrated to help explain the techniques used.
How will the course be delivered?
Christine Stanford is a local artist with 20 years experience of exhibiting and delivering mixed media courses. This course will be delivered online using Zoom. You will need a stable internet connection on a good-sized screen and a camera or microphone.
*This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners. Learners will join the class from home and be able to exchange and interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking and listening). Learners will be required to turn on their camera throughout the session for safeguarding compliance. There will be a discussion and demonstration. You will have opportunities to discuss and ask questions- this is an interactive course with the Tutor present throughout.
What do I need to bring?
You will need watercolour paints, brushes, water pots, paper towels, palette and paper. Masking tape, pencils and rubbers are also useful. Your tutor will advise you on types of paint, brushes and paper once you have enrolled on the course.
