About the course:
You will build your confidence further at using a range of watercolour techniques by incorporating inks into your paintings. You will use inks to sketch with as well as using wet in wet techniques to create loose and experimental images. With step-by-step instructions, you'll be shown how inks and watercolour washes, can be used to develop layers of colour and texture. You will learn how to build up your own paintings, creating interesting compositions with drama and atmosphere. Each week will focus on a different theme and skill, to create dramatic landscapes, seascapes, flowers and animals.How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
A basic set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a large brush and a smaller brush. A range of ink pens and inks: biro, felt-tips, acrylic ink or calligraphy ink. Feel free to bring any other inks you may have to experiment with. Other materials will be provided for you to also try.
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirements. However, a little knowledge of watercolour painting would be useful and a willingness to experiment.
