About the course:
The course will experiment with different drawing techniques and with step-by-step instructions, learners will be shown how these can be applied to different themes: landscapes, still life, flowers, animals and figures. You will be introduced to a range of artists who use these techniques well. Each week will start with drawing exercises and then with guidance and further demonstrations, you will use some of the techniques to create your own drawings.
How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
Basic sketching and drawing materials: A3 or larger cartridge paper or a sketch book with a board to rest on, a range of drawing pencils (HB, 2B, 4B and 6B), eraser, pencil sharpener, piece or charcoal and any other materials you like to draw with. Other materials will be provided for you to also try.
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirements. However, a little knowledge of drawing techniques would be useful and a willingness to experiment.
