About the course:
This qualification will enhance your understanding and skills in personal development as a follow on from any of the beginners level health and wellbeing courses. The Ascentis Award in Personal Development is designed to give you the skills to live well by providing you with the knowledge to make informed decisions on issues that affect your life. Whilst on the course you will work with your tutor to set and achieve personal challenges helping you to feel empowered and in control of your life.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered by one of our specialist tutors. You will be taught in one of our centres or in our virtual classroom (via Zoom).
Activites will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive.
What do I need to bring?
You need to bring a pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.
If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.
What are the entry requirements?
Ideally you will have an English qualification at entry level 3 or above. This could be a GCSE or an equivalent such as a functional skills qualification.
You will also need to undertake an initial assessment to determine which is the right level for you.
What can I do next?
If you want to keep learning we have a range of other courses you can progress to. These include other health and wellbeing courses as well as employability, digital, maths and English.
At the end of your course your tutor will discuss the options for further learning with you.
How well am I doing?
This is a portfolio qualification. This means you complete a range of assessment activities, which your tutor will mark and feedback on, as the course progresses. Feedback will be both written and verbal and will always be supportive and constructive helping you to see what you have achieved and how to improve.
You will also have a Individual Progress Record (IPR) to track your progress and enable you to set personal targets.
