About the course:
This Ascentis Level 2 Award in Mental Health and Wellbeing qualification covers the different types of conditions and impacts of mental health. It introduces you to key issues in mental health, raising awareness of sensitive topics and providing guidance to support yourself and others.
Topics covered will include the impact of drugs, alcohol and social media on a person's mental health and the importance of a healthy lifestyle for both physical and mental wellbeing. This qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence that you will build as the course progresses, there will be a variety of assessment tasks set during lesson and some independent tasks to complete at home.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered by one of our specialist tutors.
Activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive. This qualification is assessed through a portfolio of evidence that your will build as the course progresses.
What do I need to bring?
You need to bring a pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.
If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to demonstrate through an initial assessment that this level 2 qualification is the right level for you. Ideally you will have achieved the Level 1 Award in Mental Health and Wellbeing and/or have at least a level 1 qualification in English.

At the end of your course your tutor will discuss the options for further learning with you.
How well am I doing?
This is a portfolio qualification so you will complete a range of assessment activities and your tutor will mark your work and feedback to you as the course progresses. Feedback will be both written and verbal and will always be supportive and constructive helping you to see what you have achieved and how to improve.
You will also have a Individual Progress Record (IPR) to track your progress and enable you to set personal targets.
