About the course:

If you have heard the term 'safeguarding' but you are not sure what it means, or how it relates to day-to-day life, this short qualification course will be the perfect introduction for you. You will find out about the meaning of safeguarding and 'duty of care'. You will also learn about the types of abuse children and young people are at risk of, how you can recognise that they may be a victim and the help that is available. Finally you will learn about the possible safeguarding issues caused by modern technology.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered by one of our specialist tutors.

Activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive.

There is a short multiple choice test at the end of this course which you must pass in order to achieve the Entry Level 3 Award in Introduction to Safeguarding.

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring a pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.

If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements, just a commitment to attend every session and to contribute your ideas and enthusiasm to the group. You will complete an initial assessment to ensure that the course is the right level for you.

What can I do next?

If you want to keep learning we have a range of other courses you can progress to. These include other health and wellbeing courses as well as employability, digital, maths and English.
At the end of your course your tutor will discuss the options for further learning with you.

How well am I doing?
