About the course:

This short accredited course looks at what is meant by resilience and grit, and why they are vital to our health and well-being in an uncertain world. We can’t change most of what is happening around us, but with help we can learn strength and adaptability in the face of these uncertainties. As a group you will discuss ways to remain positive and determined, and willing to give your best despite setbacks along the way.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered by one of our specialist tutors.

Activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive.

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring a pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.

If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements, just a commitment to attend every session and to contribute your ideas and enthusiasm to the group.

What can I do next?

If you want to keep learning we have a range of other courses you can progress to. These include other health and wellbeing courses as well as employability, digital, maths and English.
At the end of your course your tutor will discuss the options for further learning with you.

How well am I doing?

This is a portfolio qualification so you complete a range of assessment activities and your tutor will mark your work and feedback to you as the course progresses. Feedback will be both written and verbal and will always be supportive and constructive helping you to see what you have achieved and how to improve.
You will also have a Individual Progress Record (IPR) to track your progress and enable you to set personal targets.
