About the course:

Do you often see the terms equality and diversity in job descriptions and wonder what they really mean? This short, entry-level qualification is designed to help you understand these important concepts, as well as what discrimination and prejudice entail. You'll learn about the legal protections in place and discover how organisations can actively support equality and diversity. By the end of the course, you'll be equipped to ensure that you and others are treated fairly and with respect.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered by one of our specialist tutors. You will be taught in one of our centres or in our virtual classroom (via Zoom).

Activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive.

There is a short multiple choice test at the end of this course which you must pass in order to achieve the Entry Level 3 Award in Equality and Diversity.

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring a pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.

If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.

What are the entry requirements?

As this is an entry level 3 course you should have an English qualification at entry level 2 or above. This could be a GCSE or an equivalent such as a functional skills qualification.
You will also need to undertake an initial assessment to determine if this is the right level for you.

What can I do next?

If you would like to learn more about equality and diversity you can progress to the L1 Award in Equality and Diversity. We also offer a range of other employability courses and workshops covering job applications and interview skills as well as vocational courses in sectors such as health and social care, education and the building industry.

How well am I doing?

Your tutor will feedback to you verbally and in written comments in a supportive and constructive way helping you to see how to improve. There is a multiple choice test at the end of this course which you must pass in order to gain the qualification and your tutor will prepare you for this by practising exam techniques and questions before the test.
You will also have a Individual Progress Record (IPR) to track your progress and enable you to set personal targets.
