About the course:

Level 1 Employability Skills will give you an opportunity to improve and showcase the transferable skills that all employers are looking for. There are a variety of units that may be taught including communication skills, health and safety, working with others and job application skills.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered by one of our specialist employability tutors. You will be taught in one of our centres or in our virtual classroom (via Zoom).

During the course you will complete a number of units. Assessment activities will often include discussions, group and pair work, written work, Q&A, making things and worksheets. Your tutor will ensure that the lessons are engaging, interactive and supportive.

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring an pen, notebook and any other items guided by your tutor.

If your course is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need an computer, smart phone or tablet and an good internet connection.

What are the entry requirements?

As this is a level 1 course. You should have an English qualification at entry level 3 or above. This could be a GCSE or an equivalent such as a functional skills qualification. You will also need to undertake an initial assessment to determine if this is the right level for you.

What can I do next?

If you want to keep learning we have a range of other courses you can progress to. These include other employability courses as well as digital, maths and English.
At the end of your course your tutor will discuss the options for further learning with you.

How well am I doing?

This is a portfolio qualification so you complete a range of assessment activities and your tutor will mark your work and feedback to you as the course progresses. Feedback will be both written and verbal and will always be supportive and constructive helping you to see what you have achieved and how to improve.
You will also have an Individual Progress Record (IPR) to track your progress and enable you to set personal target
