About the course:
This portfolio-based qualification is for adults who want to develop and extend their digital skills to maximise the tools available in different software’s to prepare, process and produce a wide range of sophisticated and professional documents accurately and efficiently.
The 6 credit qualification will be awarded to learners who successfully achieve an approved combination of units through a Portfolio of evidence that has been successfully verified and monitored through the awarding bodies Quality Assurance process. Achievement is by successful completion of unit assessments.
How will the course be delivered?
You will work directly with your tutor as part of a small group covering the course aims. Your tutor will feed back to you throughout each session on your progress. You will also have homework tasks to complete between each session and you will receive feedback on the work submitted.
*This is an online course delivered using Zoom, in real time with live interaction with your tutor and fellow learners. Learners will join the class from home and be able to exchange and interact with other learners as they would in the classroom (speaking and listening). Learners will be required to turn on their camera throughout the session for safeguarding compliance. There will be a discussion and demonstration. You will have opportunities to discuss and ask questions- this is an interactive course with the Tutor present throughout.
What do I need to bring?
A Notebook and pen and glasses if you need them. As this is a portfolio based course, we will provide a folder and USB but please feel free to bring your own lever arch file and a memory stick (USB/flash drive) to save your work to.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners will be required to take an initial assessment prior to starting this course to make sure they are on the right level for them and to ensure they have the necessary underpinning knowledge and skills to undertake the course
Learners are expected to have some prior knowledge and experience of digital and IT skills, for example the Essential Digital Skills Qualification Level 1.
This course is not suitable for the complete Beginner.
What can I do next?
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto the Nationally Accredited Qualification Certificate Digital & IT skills, or many of our other Digital Skills courses and workshops.
How well am I doing?
You will be given clear learning outcomes at the outset and throughout your learning which will be recorded in your Individual Progress Record. You will work with and be supported by your tutor who will give you regular feedback throughout the course. Your Tutor will provide you with both regular feedback verbally in lessons and recorded in your Individual Progress Record (IPR) from reviews. Information, Advice and Guidance on how to progress further will be given at the end of the qualification.
