About the course:
Got a new Android Smartphone but don't know where to begin? Had an Android Smartphone for ages but feel like you don't get enough out of it? This course is for beginners when it comes to using an android Smartphone. We start by introducing the basic functions of the phone before exploring the settings and a number of key applications. We will cover such topics as connecting to Wi-Fi, how to access the Internet, access your emails, changing basic settings. We will also show you how to download Apps such as the MyGP or the NHS App to access essential medical services. How to use your phone as a Sat Nav. How to take photos and organise them.
How will the course be delivered?
You will work directly with your tutor as part of a small group covering the course aims. Your tutor will feed back to you throughout each session on your progress.
What do I need to bring?
You might find a pen and notebook handy to take notes and if you wear glasses don't forget to bring those too. You will need to bring your fully charged Android Smartphone.
What are the entry requirements?
You may have attended our "getting the most out of your Android Smartphone" workshop but beginners are welcome too, as no prior knowledge required. Learners will need to bring their fully charged smartphone with them. **Please note, due to the wide range of Android smartphone devices available, not all resources and commands provided by the Tutor will exactly match each device.
What can I do next?
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto a Nationally Accredited Qualification such as the new Essential Digital Skills Qualification or many of our other Digital Skills courses and workshops.
