The purpose of the qualification is to provide updating and continuing professional development (CPD)
by developing knowledge relevant to job roles which involve caring for individuals with diabetes.
Learners may be employed or seeking employment in the health and social care sector.
The qualification develops knowledge and understanding of diabetes; prevention and early
intervention type 2 diabetes; the initial care of diabetes and the treatment and management of
diabetes.
This course is designed for learners to obtain and demonstrate knowledge related to handling topical, oral and other types of medication at Level 2.
Please note that it is not relevant to administering medication in a non-healthcare setting.
