ESOL Skills for Life Award in Reading Entry Level 2 (KEN26S032)

Do you want to improve your reading skills? Do you want to join a fun and friendly class? If the answer is yes then this could be the right course for you! By the end of this course your knowledge and skills will have improved and you will be confident to: use prepositions, adverbials and connectives, use knowledge of common words to understand text and find information, use detailed reading to find specific information. If this sounds very complicated do not worry! You will work with an experienced and enthusiastic ESOL tutor and a group of your peers to develop the skills and knowledge to achieve this qualification and be in the best position to move forward with your studies. Do you want to improve your reading skills? This could be the qualification for you! You will work with our highly qualified and experienced tutors, and your peers, to develop your appreciation and understanding of the written word. You will be skilfully guided to achieve success in an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This is an intensive and demanding qualification; you must be able to commit to attend each class to give you the best opportunity to succeed. In addition you will receive homework each week and you must commit to complete this in a timely manner so your tutor can give you feedback on where you can make improvements to your work. This award acts as a stand alone qualification in its own right or can be studied as part of a Level 2 Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life. Do you want to improve your speaking and listening skills? Do you want to join a fun and friendly class? If the answer is yes then this could be the right course for you! By the end of the course you will feel more confident to be able to: Understand directions and instructions, use intonation appropriately in statements and questions, use knowledge of grammatical detail e.g. past and present, continuous tense, present perfect tense, ‘used to’ understand text. You will be confident to use a range of ‘wh’ – questions, yes/no and open questions using different tenses. You will be able to give a short description using a range of adjectives, comparatives and superlatives. If this sounds daunting don`t worry! You will work with your peers and an experienced and enthusiastic ESOL tutor to develop the skills and knowledge to need to achieve this qualification and be in a positive position to move to further study. You will understand the difference between a range of simple text layouts e.g. invitation, messages and envelopes. You will be able to use verbs and capital letters where appropriate in your writing.
