About the course:

Do you have good CV but somehow you keep missing out on reaching the next stage of the recruitment process? This workshop will enable you to identify areas which might be letting you down such as layout, content, tone or tailoring and help you ensure that your CV stands out from the crowd for all the right reasons. You will look at the role of artificial intelligence in scanning CVs and ways you can make sure that your CV gets through to the next stage. Working as part of a small group you will look at ways of incorporating power verbs, tailoring your key skills to specific job roles and using a modern professional layout.

How will the course be delivered?

The workshop will be delivered by one of our specialist tutors. You will be taught in one of our centres or in our virtual classroom (via Zoom).

What do I need to bring?

Please bring an up-to-date copy of your CV on paper or digitally. You will also need a pen and paper. If your workshop is in our online classroom (Zoom) you will need a computer, smart phone or tablet and a good internet connection.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no entry requirements however this is an improver level course so you must have a CV and you may have already attended a Preparing for Employment course or a Create Your CV workshop. You will need good basic IT skills to get the most out of the workshop if you are attending online.

What can I do next?

On completion of this workshop you can progress to many other Employability courses, workshops and qualifications. If you want to improve your skills in all areas of the recruitment process you may wish to join a Troubleshoot Your Application or Troubleshoot Your Interview workshop. You may also choose to progress to an English, maths or IT course.
