About the course
If you are curious about what 'mental health' is and how you can look after yours, this introduction will give you the basics. You will find out what mental health means, learn about some of the most common mental health conditions and how you can support and protect good mental health in simple ways.
How the course will be delivered
Whether your course is taught in one of our local learning spaces or online via Zoom you will work directly with your tutor as part of a small group. The session will include discussion and sharing ideas, you will have short tasks to complete and will receive materials to keep and to stimulate your own further learning in the future.
What you'll need to bring
You should bring a pen and a notebook to each session. If you are joining an online class you will need a laptop, tablet or smartphone and a stable internet connection
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements, just a desire to learn more about mental health.
Next steps
On completion of this course you can progress to the Supporting Your Mental Health course or a range of other courses and workshops including courses on personal development, self-esteem and communication. You may like to enrol on a accredited mental health course or progress to an English, maths or IT course.
