About the course
Each week will start with suggested warm-up exercises and ideas for the session. You will develop your sketchbook use and learn to take risks with watercolour. The aim is to experiment and develop new and exciting methods and compositions, and to then include some of these ideas into you own personal style. We will look at contemporary artists who have pushed the boundaries of watercolour painting and use their work as inspiration.
How the course will be delivered
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What you'll need to bring
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of your preferred watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a water container, mixing palette or plate, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a range of brushes and other materials you like to use. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements. However, it is a course for more experienced watercolourists or learners who have attended previous improvers or intermediate watercolour courses.
