About the course:
The course will study a range or art where figures have been included successfully. What do the figures add to the painting? Would the painting be as successful without the figures? How can you add a figure or figures to your work to add interest? We will use a sketchbook to develop techniques for painting successful figures and to plan them into our compositions, in order to try and resolve issues that might arise before tackling a larger watercolour and ink painting.
How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of your preferred watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a water container, mixing palette or plate, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a range of brushes and other materials you like to use. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirements. However, it is a course for more experienced watercolourists or learners who have attended previous improvers or intermediate watercolour courses.
