About the course:
Discover the beauty of abstraction through watercolour as we explore ways to transform the landscape into expressive, imaginative compositions. By studying how artists abstract the natural landscape, we will learn to simplify forms, experiment with colour, and create dynamic interpretations that go beyond realism. This course will guide you through techniques for loosening your brushwork, enhancing mood, and finding personal expression. The aim is to give you confidence in developing your own abstract style while deepening your understanding of composition and creativity.
How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of your preferred watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a water container, mixing palette or plate, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a range of brushes and other materials you like to use. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
