About the course

This course is designed for learners who have some prior experience of watercolour and would like to build confidence and control through the theme of seascapes. Using coastal scenes as inspiration, you will develop key watercolour techniques such as wet-in-wet, layering, glazing, and expressive brushwork to capture light, movement, and atmosphere. Each week will focus on a different aspect of seascape painting, including skies, sea, waves, and shoreline textures. You will be encouraged to work more loosely and interpretively, learning how to simplify complex scenes and make confident colour and tonal choices. The course has a relaxed, supportive atmosphere and places emphasis on experimentation, personal style, and enjoyment of the process. Group discussion and gentle reflection will help you identify progress and next steps in your watercolour practice.

How the course will be delivered
