About the course:
Learn how to convey imagery in a loose more expressive way, creating a sense of atmosphere in your painting. Experiment with the application of paint using a variety of mark making tools and experimental textures. Break landscape and composition into simple, more abstract shapes, capturing the mood and essence of a place. Let your creativity flow as you work towards painting an independent watercolour study in week 6.
How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered through a blend of tutor demonstrations, group discussions, and hands-on experimentation, allowing you to explore and refine your artistic practice.
What do I need to bring?
There is no need to buy any materials ahead of the course starting, basic resources to get you started will be supplied and Karen will discuss with you the most suitable art materials to buy to help you continue your artistic journey.
What are the entry requirements?
Ideally you will have completed the beginners watercolour course within the last 1-2 years or be able to show equivalent knowledge and skills e.g. from other prior learning.
What can I do next?
You can continue your art journey with any of the other classes we have on offer. This could lead to an art course focusing on a specific skill or technique or a creative arts qualification. Information, advice & guidance is available from your tutor to help identify the best follow-on course for you.
How well am I doing?
You will be taught by Karen our highly qualified art tutor. Throughout the course she will give you feedback and encouragement. You will also complete an Individual Progress Report (IPR) to track your progress.
