About the course:
We will look at the basic history of still life painting and focus on different themes and elements, such as line, shape, colour, tone and space. We will look at how to create strong compositions and learn to lead the viewer's eye around the painting.
How will the course be delivered?
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What do I need to bring?
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of your preferred watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a water container, mixing palette or plate, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a range of brushes and other materials you like to use. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
What are the entry requirements?
No formal entry requirements. However, it is a course for more experienced watercolourists or learners who have attended previous improvers or intermediate watercolour courses.
