About the course:

You will be introduced to a range of artists who use inks and mixed media techniques in their work to create exciting textures and compositions. Sessions will start with the opportunity to experiment with watercolour and the different media, with each week having a different focus. We will develop the use of incorporating inks, oil pastels, water-colour pencils, charcoal and collage. With step-by-step instructions and suggestions, you will be shown how these techniques can be used to develop textures and atmosphere in paintings. You will use inks to sketch with as well as using wet in wet techniques to create loose and experimental images. You will learn how to build up your own paintings using layers, with the aim of developing a personal style to you.
