About the course:

Each session will start with tips and suggestions for the weekly focus, from quick sketching and painting techniques, note taking, experimenting with composition and recording observations. We will look at how different artists use sketchbooks to inspire and compose their final paintings. For one or two sessions, weather permitting, you will go outside to sketch and develop your sketch book further from observation. You will also be introduced to different sketchbook formats and be encouraged to use your sketchbook to experiment with new ideas and push your work to the next level. Demonstrations, guidance and encouragement will be provided by the tutor to help you develop your confidence and fill up your sketchbook.
