About the course:

Combine print and painting techniques with drawing and collage. You will be introduced to simple ways of working such as monoprint (one-off prints) and collagraphs (prints from textured plates). You will explore line, texture and pattern, experimenting with a variety of mark making tools and collage.

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered via a mixture of tutor demonstration, discussion and experimentation, building your confidence and leading towards an independently created final piece of artwork.

What do I need to bring?

There is no need to buy any materials ahead of the course, basic resources to get you started will be supplied and Karen will discuss with you the most suitable art materials to buy to help you continue your artistic journey.

What are the entry requirements?

Ideally you will have completed a beginners art course within the last 1-2 years or be able to show equivalent knowledge and skills e.g. from other prior learning.

What can I do next?

You can continue your art journey with any of the other classes we have on offer. This could lead to an art course focusing on a specific skill or technique or a creative arts qualification. Information, advice & guidance is available from your tutor to help identify the best follow-on course for you.

How well am I doing?

You will be taught by Karen our highly qualified art tutor. Throughout the course she will give you feedback and encouragement. You will also complete an Individual Progress Report (IPR) to track your progress.
