About the course:

Have you ever watched Portrait Artist of The Year and thought you’d like to paint like that? This course offers you a chance to use a variety of media and techniques to create portraits in different ways. You’ll learn how to paint and draw in traditional and contemporary styles and find out about inspiring portrait artists working today. You will learn how to draw accurately and how to confidently apply paint, ink or collage to create a face. Enjoy experimenting and find your inner artist in this relaxed and fun course

How will the course be delivered?

The course will be delivered face to face in a small group setting, with a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

What do I need to bring?

To begin with, a set of 7 acrylics, a set of different sized brushes, a pencil, palette a water pot and an A4 sketchbook. You’ll need Titanium white, Payne’s Grey, Phthalo Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Red, Burnt Umber and Cadmium Yellow. Graduate paints are reasonably priced local outlooks.

What are the entry requirements?

Some drawing skills are useful, and enjoyment in experimenting with colour, line and mark making is essential
