About the course:

Building on Functional Skills English Entry Level 2, this course will further develop your skills to speak, listen, communicate, read and write more effectively. You will learn how to use these skills in ways such as writing instructions or reports.

How will the course be delivered?

By a tutor, working with a group of other learners in a classroom setting. There will be whole class, group and individual learning activities over 55 guided learning hours. You will be asked to do some homework as part of the course. You will need to attend regularly.

What do I need to bring?

Pen, notebook and folder. Access to the internet would be an advantage, as this course includes access to a range of digital home-learning opportunities, many of which are tailored to your individual learning needs.

What are the entry requirements?

Ideally, you will have achieved Functional Skills Entry Level 2. You will be supported to complete an initial assessment that will help decide whether this is the right course for you at this time, or whether you require support to develop your skills further to help you to build your confidence first.

How well am I doing?

Your tutor will let you know how you are getting on. You will be supported to keep a record of your achievements and set targets. You will be assessed on reading, writing and speaking, listening and communicating. Your tutor will support you with lots of practise before you sit any assessments. To achieve the qualification you have to pass all 3 units.
