About the course
Do you want to feel more confident using English in everyday life? This course will help you grow your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. It builds on Functional Skills English entry level 1 if you already have it. You will learn how to write clear letters and emails. You will practise spelling and punctuation, and you’ll have lots of chances to speak in a small, friendly group.
How the course will be delivered
You will learn with a tutor and a small group in the classroom. Lessons will include whole-class, group and individual activities. You will need to attend regularly and complete some homework.

Pen, notebook and folder.
Entry requirements
We will support you to complete an initial assessment to help you find the right level of study. You may already have a Functional Skills entry level 1 qualification.
Next steps
Functional Skills English entry level 3 or other English courses. Courses from other areas: maths, digital, employability, family learning, arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, ESOL, modern foreign languages or greener.
