About the course:

This course introduces you to basic Excel techniques.You will learn how to create, open and save a workbook as well as enter data and apply formatting to change the appearance of a spreadsheet. You will learn how to use simple functions and formulae and how to prepare a spreadsheet for printing.

How will the course be delivered?

You will work directly with your tutor as part of a small group covering the course aims. Your tutor will feed back to you throughout each session on your progress. You will also have homework tasks to complete between each session and you will receive feedback on the work submitted.

What do I need to bring?

A Notebook and pen and glasses if you need them. You could also bring a memory stick (USB/flash drive) to save your work to if you like.

What are the entry requirements?

This course is designed for students who have basic computer knowledge and would like to gain confidence. Learners should already have some knowledge of using a PC, ideally already completed an Introduction to IT course.

What can I do next?

On successful completion of this course you can progress to Excel for Improvers, or onto a Nationally Accredited Qualification such as the new Essential Digital Skills Qualification, as well as many of our other Digital Skills courses and workshops
