About the course:
This qualification supports you as an ESOL learner to be ready to undertake further study. This qualification supports you to develop study skills to be able to access the ESOL core curriculum in the future. It allows you to practise the underpinning skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing so that you can learn English effectively.This qualification also helps you learn about your local area and where you can get help and support.How will the course be delivered?
Your tutor will use a variety of teaching methods to help you achieve your full potential. This course will be taught in a classroom by a friendly and supportive tutor, where your individual needs are catered for. Teaching, learning and assessment are carried out through taught sessions, discussion, and group work. You will be supported to learn with worksheets, role-play, activity cards, games, homework, evaluation and feedback. It will help you to progress if you can complete work outside of class time and access to a laptop or tablet would be useful.

What are the entry requirements?
No previous formal qualifications are required for entry to this qualification. You will complete a short initial assessment with a member of our staff to make sure this is the right course for you.
What can I do next?
This course will get you on the next step towards ESOL E1 Skills for Life qualifications.
How well am I doing?
You will receive written and spoken feedback from the tutor and an individual progress record. You will be supported to set targets so you can keep track of your achievements. Supervised assessments on each unit of study are provided by the awarding body; these are then scheduled according to need. They are marked by the tutor and graded pass or fail. They are checked by an external verifier.
Additional transferable skills:
Basic speaking, listening, reading and writing skills will be developed. Study skills will improve as will independent thinking skills and problem solving skills.
