About the course:

Build your confidence to step up from one level of qualification to the next, or to help find a way into learning. Focus on the key areas where you need to develop your English and learning skills and celebrate your strengths too. Very much based around individual needs, this course will help to give you the boost you need to move successfully to the next level.

How will the course be delivered?

You will work with a tutor and a group of other learners. There will be whole class, group and individual learning activities. You may be asked to complete homework as part of the course. The course will last between 10 and 15 hours

What do I need to bring?

Pen, notebook and folder. Access to the internet for self-study would be helpful so you can access a range of digital learning opportunities.

What are the entry requirements?

An Ascentis English Stepping Stones to Functional Skills qualification or an English Functional Skills qualification, depending on the group, or simply an interest in learning new skills in English. You will be supported to complete an initial assessment to help identify your needs.

Your tutor will let you know how you are getting on and help you to set learning goals. You will have an individual progress record to chart your progress and celebrate your ongoing success.
