About the course:
Immerse yourself in a mini-writing project on a stimulating range of themes, with a chance to explore how the process of writing supports wellbeing. Through these, you will explore methods and develop techniques to help you to express yourself, chosen from the following: Writing a ghost story; Writing the hero's journey; Writing from an image: Writing the seasons; Rewriting a local legend; Setting the scene; Creating characters; Travel writing.How will the course be delivered?
You will work with a tutor and a group of other learners. There will be whole class, group and individual learning activities. There may be optional home-learning activities. 2 x 3 hours.
What do I need to bring?
Pen and paper.
What are the entry requirements?
An interest in creative writing and a desire to explore the subject. This course is suitable if you have achieved a minimum of Functional Skills level 2 in English. You will be asked to write a short piece as an informal initial assessment to check this course is at the right level for you.

You will receive written and verbal feedback from the tutor and an individual progress record. The tutor will help you set targets so you can monitor your progress.
