About the course:

Unit 1 summary:

In this unit, diabetes is introduced in a biological sense. The functionality of glucose and insulin is explored, as are risk factors for developing diabetes.

Unit 2 summary:

In this unit, learners will discover more about Type 2 diabetes specifically, and how diet and lifestyle changes can prevent or manage the condition.

Unit 3 summary:

Here, learners will learn how to initially care for diabetes, if they or someone they know are diagnosed.

Unit 4 summary:

In this final unit, learners will discover the long-term effects that diabetes can have, both physically and socially, and will look at an assortment of treatment/triage options available for those afflicted by diabetes.
