About the course:
The objectives of this qualification are to gain knowledge and understanding of autism, including: how to adopt a positive approach to supporting individuals with autism, the current legislative framework relating to individuals with autism and how different theories have developed over time, how to support and manage transitions for individuals with autism, the range of therapeutic interventions and support available for individuals with autism and co-occurring conditions, how to support communication and social interaction for individuals with autism,how to develop an understanding of how individuals with autism may be vulnerable and the support worker’s role and responsibilities relating to safeguarding according to legislative requirements.

What do I need to bring?
On enrolment you will need to upload ID, any benefits or proof of residency as they are funded courses and you need to prove eligibility.
What are the entry requirements?
This course is funded via the National Skills Fund. You will be eligible for funding if:
Your income is below the income threshold applicable to your region. We can provide guidance on this when you inquire.
OR
You do not hold a Level 3 qualification in any subject (equivalent to 2 full A levels, an advanced technical certificate or diploma)
You must also:
Currently live in England or be
Resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study.
If you are not eligible for funding, you can fund your qualification with an Advanced Learner Loan with nothing to pay until you earn over £27,660k a year.

How well am I doing?
You will be allocated a tutor who will keep in touch and provide robust written feedback on each of your units and let you know if you have passed. If you don’t quite meet the criteria your tutor will guide you and you can resubmit units until you show competency and understanding.
