About the course

Unit 1 summary: In this unit, safeguarding is introduced in a broad sense. Local and national legislation relating to it is explored, as are recognising and responding to actual or presumed signs of abuse. Unit 2 summary: In this unit, learners will come to understand the importance of British Values, which underpin many courses at TSN. Democracy, tolerance and mutual respect are taught and placed in a relevant context. Unit 3 summary: This is a unit about the Prevent duty, an anti-terrorist scheme. Learners will discover how to stop radicalisation and how to recognise and report signs of this in others. Unit 4 summary: In this final unit, learners will develop an appreciation of the dangers of an online society. The modern digital world is explored and dissected as the safe use of social media is promoted, as are channels that learners can go to for help if they are abused online.
