About the course:
Unit 1 summary:
In this unit, safeguarding is introduced in a broad sense. Local and national legislation relating to it is explored, as are recognising and responding to actual or presumed signs of abuse.
Unit 2 summary:
In this unit, learners will come to understand the importance of British Values, which underpin many courses at TSN. Democracy, tolerance and mutual respect are taught and placed in a relevant context.
Unit 3 summary:
This is a unit about the Prevent duty, an anti-terrorist scheme. Learners will discover how to stop radicalisation and how to recognise and report signs of this in others.
Unit 4 summary:
In this final unit, learners will develop an appreciation of the dangers of an online society. The modern digital world is explored and dissected as the safe use of social media is promoted, as are channels that learners can go to for help if they are abused online.

What can I do next?
The qualification can be used as part of a programme of learning to prepare learners for employment
and /or further learning and therefore progression could be to any of a wide range of vocational areas,
either through employment, full/part time education or a wide range of apprenticeships. Learners
could progress to further employability qualifications, to an apprenticeship or a qualification such as:
• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools
• Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
