About the course:

Unit 1 summary:

In this unit, learners will explore the healthy and safety risks associated with a variety of warehousing environment duties, including receiving goods-in, processing orders, storing goods and checking stock, and manual handling. They will then look at how to reduce these risks.

Unit 2 summary:

Learners will look at the types of warehouse and common principles associated with the logistics sector. They will look at the purpose of storage, picking, grading and packing, and learn to identify the benefits of good warehousing arrangements. They will then learn about the goods-in process, including how to prepare for goods arriving, the process for checking and reporting them, and identifying and informing about variation in goods. Finally, they will learn about storage conditions, including stock control.

Unit 3 summary:

In Unit 3, learners will learn about why stock checks are needed and when they may take place. They will learn about the process for dealing with goods that are damaged, faulty, or out of date, and how oversupply or undersupply of goods can impact the customer and organisation. They will look in detail at the process of packaging goods ready for dispatch, including the consequences of not packaging goods safely. They will then look at the equipment and processes to be used prior to dispatching goods.

Unit 4 summary:

Learners will explore the different types of customers in a warehousing environment and their needs. They will learn how customer service can be managed, and how effective communication and working well as a team can have a positive impact on customers. They will then look at the ways customer service can have a positive or negative impact on an organisation’s reputation and brand, as well as on customer experience and public perception.
