About the course:

Discover the art of wire sculpture in this course designed for beginners. Focusing on small, hand crafted gifts, you'll learn essential techniques for bending, shaping, and assembling wire into beautiful forms. Each week explores a different type of gift, such as window hangings, Christmas tree decorations, earrings and pendants, allowing you to experiment with textures, mixed media, and creative embellishments. By the end of the course, you'll have a collection of unique, handmade gifts ready to share with loved ones. Perfect for those wanting to develop artistic skills while crafting thoughtful creations.

How will the course be delivered?

This course will be delivered face to face by our amazing Art tutor Amy. There will be a mixture of tutor demonstration, discussion and hands-on creative activities to help you develop your skills and confidence.

What do I need to bring?

All equipment is provided but if you have your own needle-nosed pliers or wire cutters (such as those used in jewellery making) you are welcome to bring those.

What are the entry requirements?

This class is suitable for complete beginners or those with some experience; all you need is a passion for sculpture and a creative mindset.

What can I do next?

You can continue your art journey with any of the other classes we have on offer. This could lead to an art course focusing on a specific skill or technique or a creative arts qualification. Information, advice & guidance is available from your tutor to help identify the best follow-on course for you.

How well am I doing?

You will be taught by Amy our highly qualified art tutor. Throughout the course she will give you feedback and encouragement. You will also complete an Individual Progress Report (IPR) to track your progress.
