About the course
Create several beautiful, watercolour Christmas cards whilst learning some basic watercolour techniques. You'll learn how to create simple watercolour washes and experiment with different techniques to create interesting textures: including using wax resist, salt for snow, wet in wet methods, layering, scratching and cling film to create winter mountains. Your tutor will provide detailed demonstrations on how to create the designs, whilst allowing opportunities for you to have a go at your own creations if and when confident.
How the course will be delivered
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What you'll need to bring
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of your preferred watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a water container, mixing palette or plate, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a range of brushes and other materials you like to use. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements. It is a beginners course for learners who want to learn the basics and have a willingness to experiment.
