About the course
Make a bag using a simple pattern or embellish and up cycle a plain tote bag using simple running stitch and geometric patterns, Sashiko stitching is used to form patterns. Boro combines layers of fabric and running stitch. You will learn how to combine both these techniques to add unique detail to a tote bag.
How the course will be delivered
Your tutor, Karen, holds a degree in textile design and has over 25 years of experience in education. Throughout this short course, she will provide constructive feedback and support to help you develop your skills and confidence. The course will be delivered through a blend of tutor demonstrations, group discussions, and hands-on experimentation, allowing you to explore and refine your artistic practice.
What you'll need to bring
There’s no need to purchase materials before the course begins. Basic resources will be provided to get you started, and Karen will guide you in selecting the most suitable materials to continue your creative textile journey.

No prior experience is required—just a passion for art, textile design, and creativity.
