About the course

We will spend the first half of the course learning the techniques needed to create your own hand-stitched Manx patchwork block. You will explore ways to add personal embellishments to your quilt panels such as embroidery and applique. In the second half of the course you will work on a personal quilt/art hanging using the techniques learned.

How the course will be delivered

You'll be taught by our tutor Karen who has a degree in textile design and more than 25 years’ experience in education. Throughout the course your tutor will give you feedback and encouragement.

What you'll need to bring

No sewing machine is required, as all blocks are stitched by hand. No need to buy any materials ahead of the course, basic resources to get you started will be supplied and Karen will discuss with you the most suitable resources to buy to help you continue your creative journey.

Entry requirements

No experience necessary, just an interest in art and textile design and a passion for creativity.
