About the course:

The session will start with tips and suggestions on how to simplify the landscape, from quick sketching using different media, thumbnail sketches, the use of note taking and recording observations. We will look at how different artists use sketchbooks to explore and develop ideas and drawings. Weather permitting, there may be an opportunity to go outside and try out the skills taught. You will also be introduced to different sketchbook formats. Demonstrations, guidance and encouragement will be provided by the tutor to help you develop your confidence.

How will the course be delivered?

Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.

What do I need to bring?

It is not necessary to bring any materials, as a selection will be available for you to use. However, if you have a small sketchbook, and other materials you think might be suitable, then please bring them along.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements. You just a willingness to join in and have a go.
