About the course

You will be introduced to a range of artists who use mixed media techniques to create exciting textures and compositions. The course will focus on experimenting with different water-colour techniques (sea salt, cling-film, wet-in-wet, wax resist, scraping, granulation fluid etc…) and how to combine these with different media. We will look at using inks, oil pastels, water-colour pencils, charcoal and collage. With step-by-step instructions and suggestions, you will be shown how these can be used to develop textures and atmosphere in paintings.
