About the course
The course will introduce you to different water-colour techniques (washes, layering, wet-in-wet, masking, wax resist, scraping and using sea salt and cling-film for textures.) With step-by-step instructions, learners will be shown how these can be applied to create rock and sea textures, and then how to build these techniques up into an atmospheric seascape.
How the course will be delivered
Through detailed step-by-step demonstrations, discussions and regular support and encouragement.
What you'll need to bring
A set of watercolour materials including an A4 or larger sketchbook of watercolour paper, a small set of your preferred watercolours, a pencil, masking tape, a water container, mixing palette or plate, a board to tape your paper on, kitchen towel, a range of brushes and other materials you like to use. Other materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements. It is a beginners course for learners who want to learn the basics and have a willingness to experiment.
